Finding healthy alternatives & cooking tips
As you can see by the charts and tables I've already taken from Pinterest- it can be an amazing tool for many things, but especially for recipes. The only thing I don't like about Pinterest recipes, is that the majority of them are linked to a blog to get the full recipe - you are then stuck in a 5 minute, slow loading scroll alllllll the way to the bottom of the blog story before reaching the actual recipe.
I also find that if your phone screen turns off while you are mid-recipe, you have to go back into the pin and follow the link and do the same scrolling routine all over again.
I will often screenshot recipe steps from the blog so that I don't have to continuously go back onto the page. Pinterest can be great for any type of recipe, but it's also nice to search with more specific ingredients like “banana, coconut” or broad ideas like "healthy quick recipes" and boom you have a thousands to choose from.
As you get more comfortable in the kitchen, you might do like I do and just skim the pictures for inspiration - coming up with your own means to a similar end. While adapting certain ingredients according to what you have on hand, or to incorporate a healthier alternative, you can create something that is truly your own and discover new flavours!
Start a Pinterest board and actually use it for meal planning and recipe ideas for the week. Sometimes I will pick four or five recipes that share at least a few of the same ingredients, and then I make a grocery list based off those recipes.
