Instagram Stories

Instagram has a story feature where you can post images or videos which can be viewed for 24 hours after they are posted. These stories can be accessed by clicking on the “Kate’s Kitchen Online” profile picture. When there’s a new story post, the profile picture will have a coloured ring around it so that you know there is new content to be seen.

Recipe Teaser

The steps for a new recipe will often first be posted as an Instagram story, followed by a picture post in @kateskitchenonline feed which will direct you to the written recipe link - if you need help accessing the recipe link click here.

Insta Only Recipe

These video recipe posts are exclusive to Instagram, and they do not have an accompanied full written recipe post on Kate’s Kitchen Online. Usually these “Insta Only” video recipes are pretty simple, and you can get a pretty good idea of how to make the dish without detailed explanation. I recommend taking a screen shot of these story images if you want to remember how to make these “Insta-Only” recipe at a later time, or you can find them on the “Insta Only” highlight located on the @kateskitchenonline Instagram profile.

Kitchen Tips

There’s a Kitchen Tips page located on the toolbar of Kateskitchenonline.com which houses tips for cooking and provides guidance on how to cook without a recipe. Snippets of these Kitchen Tips will be posted as an Instagram Story, where you can view past tips on the Instagram Highlight named “Kitchen Tips”. The story post will always callout “Link in bio” to direct you to @kateskitchenonline Instagram profile, where you can click on the link in the bio to read more about the featured Kitchen Tip.

Much like this blog post, “Web Tips” are tricks and tips about using Kate’s Kitchen Online to its fullest potential by explaining different ways to navigate the website and find the perfect recipe for whatever suits you. These tips will be posted as an Instagram Story and you can view past ones on the Instagram Highlight named “Web Tips” located on @kateskitchenonline Instagram profile.

Occasionally when I test out a recipe I find in a magazine (or something) - I’ll post a story which follows the trial, at the end I will give my opinion about how it went and what I would change if anything. These trials will be posted as an Instagram Story and you can view past ones on the Instagram Highlight named “Recipe Trials” located on the @kateskitchenonline Instagram profile.

What mixes best with cooking? FRIENDSHIP. I love going over to a friend’s house, bringing a few ingredients, scouring their kitchen, and coming up with something tasty to cook with them. I get to learn from them and they get to learn from me - win-win. These “On Location” cooking events will be posted as an Instagram Story and you can view past ones on the Instagram Highlight named “On Location” located on the @kateskitchenonline Instagram profile.

To give you updates on new blogs and vlogs posted to the website, there will be Instagram Story “teaser” posts which will feature snippets of the upcoming or recently posted blog or vlog. Once the new blog or vlog is live and available to view, there will be a story post which will call out “link in bio” - where you can go to the @kateskitchenonline Instagram profile, click on the bio link and view the new post. If you need help finding out how to view the link in bio, click here.
